| Moniepoint Introduces USSD Service for FG’s ₦50,000 Relief Payment |
Moniepoint Microfinance Bank has introduced a USSD service that allows customers to check whether they qualify for the Federal Government’s ₦50,000 National Emergency Relief and Stabilisation Intervention (NERSI).
The initiative, led by the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, is designed to provide financial support to vulnerable households across Nigeria as they struggle with the rising cost of living and other economic challenges.
As one of the programme’s official payment partners, Moniepoint is making it easier for eligible Nigerians to access the funds without going through a complicated process.
Customers can check their eligibility by dialling *5573*27# using the mobile number linked to their Moniepoint account.
Those who qualify will receive an on-screen prompt asking them to accept the ₦50,000 relief payment. Once accepted, the money will be credited directly to their Moniepoint accounts at no charge.
The USSD option is expected to make the process more accessible, particularly for customers who may not have access to reliable internet services or prefer to carry out transactions using their mobile phones.
