Illegal Arms Factory Uncovered in Lagos - Two Blacksmiths Arrested

Police-uncover Arms factory in Lagos, nab 2 operators - SN News

Hey, did you hear about that major police bust in Lagos last week? Some crazy stuffs are happening in Nigeria Oh!

It turns out that the police in Lagos uncovered an illegal weapons factory that was pumping out homemade guns right under everyone's noses. Can you believe it?

This went down in the Ibeju-Lekki area, where the police raided the place and arrested two guys who were working as blacksmiths making these guns - they are Musiliu Gbenga, 21, and Owolabi Azeez, 22.

There were over 30 suspects nabbed in total that are related to the incident. These dudes were facing some serious charges - we're talking cultism, theft, unlawful firearm possession. Word is they were selling these homemade guns to criminals.

The police spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, said the raid on October 11 was the result of an investigation that lasted a whole month. At least, good police work finally paying off.

At the illegal factory, they found 3 single-barrel pistols, a double-barrel shotgun, 1 single-shot gun, 2 long guns, 10 used bullet cartridges, 12 pipes, 2 drill machines, a gas cylinder, a vehicle, and a bunch of tools used in making these guns. Can you believe that was all going on right under people's noses?

Now check this out - on October 13, they also arrested 4 traders at the Alaba Market for messing with cables and selling counterfeit ones while using reputable trademarks. Also busted was a guy pretending to be a delivery man but in reality he was stealing car parts, and reselling them. A really busy week for the Lagos State Police!

The craziest arrest was this cultist called Skipo. The dude's real name is Ganiu Yusuf, and he's 23. Police say he killed a rival cult member and was involved with a bunch of other cultist related crimes around Lagos.

The Lagos State police command, through their spokes person told Lagosians to turn in all illegal weapons and arms in their possession, and of course, you can't blame them. The streets are dangerous enough without homemade guns floating around. They gave an assurance that those who return theirs won’t be arrested because this is in line with the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, to all commands in Nigeria to mop up arms and ammunition across the federation in the hands of non-state actors. Please stay safe out there!
